Crystal structure prediction and full-space inverse materials design
Materials formation and synthesis: understanding and predicting how materials form in nature and how target phases can be synthesized through physics-based computation and artificial intelligence
Design of inorganic functional materials
Microscopic mechanisms of transport in nanoconfined materials and methods for their control and optimization
Research and Teaching Activities
Serves as a reviewer for leading international journals in physics, chemistry, and materials science, including Nature Materials, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review B, Journal of the American Chemical Society, The Journal of Physical Chemistry, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and Energy & Environmental Science.
From 2012 to 2013, taught modules on the electronic structure of solids and first-principles calculations in undergraduate and graduate courses—including Condensed Matter Physics and Physics of Solar Energy Materials—at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Toledo.
At Soochow University, teaches the undergraduate courses Energy Physics and Semiconductor Physics.
